At Festo, we continuously invest in training and learning to ensure our employees have the right skills. Our aim is to unleash their full potential and help them achieve success. The firmly established philosophy of lifelong learning at Festo remains solid and has evolved in various ways over the course of the year. We have made very good progress with a clear focus on targeted employee qualification, modernizing the learning platform, and promoting everyday learning. Flexible learning concepts and employee qualification Our learning concepts are designed to be flexibly adapted to current needs. In addition, we standardize plant processes with our factory reference organization and train managers and employees according to their positions and tasks. Since the start of the project in 2021, more than 13,500 employees have taken part in 859 training sessions on quality, cost, delivery, finance, and OPEX topics. 5.4 Further Training Modernization and expansion of the Learning Campus The Learning Campus will continue to be the central learning platform for all Festo employees. In 2023, it had a stable base of 16,835 users who actively participated in around 4,200 training sessions worldwide, cementing the strong participation from the previous year.  GRI 404-1 The further development of the Campus with a major release last July was a decisive step. In addition to a modernized design, the Campus offers improved search functions that help employees search for suitable training courses more efficiently. The ability to create and integrate your own learning content using the Festo LX Creator (authoring tool) strengthens the relevance of our learning offer. My Daily Learning – learning in everyday working life The introduction of the My Daily Learning tile in the Learning Campus is intended to raise awareness of the fact that learning takes place on the job rather than just in formal learning environments. With LearnHacks, tips, and tricks for effectively integrating learning practices into everyday life, we encourage our employees to continuously acquire new skills and expertise. The newly integrated “Simply.Better.Learning!” format serves as a platform for sharing best practices and inspires people to make their own learning more conscious. Among other things, the format presents the Festo Learning Guideline developed this year, which serves as a guideline for a learning organization in which everyone can contribute. Expert talks and external learning opportunities The year 2023 was characterized by an increase in virtual training opportunities and an expansion of global expert talks. The number of participants increased from 5,172 at the end of 2022 to 5,951. These talks consolidate the understanding of sustainability and the connection between corporate strategy and individual knowledge acquisition.  GRI 404-1 In addition, our LearningTubes – learning videos created by colleagues themselves – received around 23,000 views. LinkedIn Learning’s integrated online courses were used by approximately 5,000 employees, who consumed over 9,000 hours of content in total. The development of the topic of continuing education in 2023 clearly shows that significant progress has been made both quantitatively (usage) and qualitatively (content and formats).
