Function
The tripod with robotic functionality has four translational and one
rotational degree of freedom for path and positioning applications
in space, with additional position control. The tripod’s range of
movement is characterised by the pyramid-shaped arrangement of
3 standard linear drives. The front panel is connected to the drives
by parallel glass-fibre-reinforced plastic rods, which reduce the mov-
ing mass to a minimum. The driving force can almost be used entire-
ly for the introduction of dynamic response. Vibrations are simultane-
ously minimised.
Optional front unit
The high-performance and extremely precise rotary drive which is
mounted on the front panel completes the tripod as a 4-axis system.
