Onecharacteristic featureof conventionalmachines is the largecontrol cabinetoutside themachine.Thecontrollerswithin
thiscabinetareconnected to thedrives, sensorsandvalvesbyamultiplicityof cablesand lengthsof tubingseveralmetres
long.With the“BreakthroughGeneration”, Cama completely redesigned itsmachines. Thishasmade it possible to re-
duce theamount of space requiredby themachines. The control cabinets containing theelectrical andpneumatic compo-
nentsare integrated in themachinepedestal angles.Thecompactmachine footprinthelps tominimisecablingandmakes it
easier toplace themodulesand componentsused rightwhere theyareneededand thusmoreaccessible. The coreprod-
uct of thissolution is the Festovalve terminal CPX/MPAwithprotection class IP65. CPX links thepneumaticandelectrical
control chainsand connects thesesimply, quickly, flexiblyandseamlessly toanyautomation concept and inaccordance
withany company-specific standards. Attentionhasalsobeenpaid to the topicofmachinesafety. Thesoft-start/quick
exhaust valveMS6-SV isused toexhaust thesystem. It provides reliableprotectionagainst unexpectedstart-upandhas
anexhaust capacity1.5 times itspressurisation capacity.
Theside-loadingunit consistsof ahandlingunitwithanelectricaxisEGC for precise travel to intermediatepositionsand
apneumaticmini slideDGSL. TheEGChelps to reduceassembly timesby30per cent compared topreviousself-made
andassembledelectricaxes. Thedeliberateuseof bothpneumaticandelectricdrive technologyallowshighprecision to
beobtained togetherwithahigh load capacity.
