Superconductors: transporting and gripping whilst levitating
Superconductors allow objects to be moved whilst levitating –
even through
walls or water. At Hannover Messe 2016, Festo presented three new concepts
for industrial use – SupraJunction, SupraGripper and SupraTube. From transport
across water to movement within an enclosed liquid-filled tube, these new
developments show what is currently happening with superconductor
technology in the field of automation.
